Los Angeles, or L.A., is one of the United States’ most popular cities. There are literally hundreds of things to do, ensuring you won’t have a dull moment. But if you’re looking for a getaway with little to no crowds, L.A. in the summer isn’t it. Aside from hordes of other tourists, you’ll spend a lot more time in lines than you will actually doing the activities you came for.
That’s one of the reasons visiting L.A. in the fall is the perfect choice. Things you can do in L.A. in autumn include:
Picking your own apples. If you’re from the city, how often do you actually get to pick apples? Or any fruit for that matter? Apple-picking season in Los Angeles happens every autumn. The perfect spot? Oak Glen. You can pick your own apples and take them home, or you can use them onsite to bake your own pie or create your own cider. If you have children with you, they’ll especially enjoy the small petting zoo onsite.
Visiting the botanical gardens. The botanical gardens around Los Angeles are beautiful year-round, but there’s something special about the gardens in the fall, after the tourists have gone home and the kiddos are back in school. The autumn foliage is the perfect spot for picnics and family time on weekends. No matter what, you’ll leave with some Insta-ready moments, for sure.
Reliving your childhood at a neighborhood pumpkin patch. Is it even fall without pumpkins? Of course not! That’s why visiting the pumpkin patches bring back such fond childhood memories. You can enjoy the whole day walking through the patch, going for a hayride, enjoying cider, and choosing the pumpkins you’ll take home to carve.
